Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign:
Behold, a virgin shall conceive and bear a son,
and shall call His name Immanuel.
Isaiah 7:14
My middle daughter Elizabeth’s birthday falls at the beginning of December, and in celebration of that grand event this year, I purchased two tickets for the Trans Siberian Orchestra’s tour concert last night at the coliseum. We both love their music, and neither of us had ever attended one of their concerts. We were, in a word, not disappointed. Lights, lasers, fog, snow, fire and fantastic music combined together to delight the heart and rock the senses.
Three of TSO’s rock operas are based on Christmas – Christmas Eve and Other Stories (1996 – the one performed on this tour), The Christmas Attic (1998), and The Lost Christmas Eve. Each is a celebration of the Christmas season - each with a different theme. Christmas Eve and other Stories weaves a message of the magical effect of Christmas Day on the human race. It is a story threaded with the call for love of all people on earth. The message was broadcast from a glittering stage but could easily have resounded from the most staid pulpit.
On this first day of December, take a moment to sit back and listen to TSO’s unique mix of heavy metal with classical music as they render their wonderful version of Carol of the Bells.
Well it brought back such memories I had to repost it with a bit of story. Thanks for putting it on.
ReplyDeleteI too am a music lover. It is my primary heart worship. It was fun to go back over memory lane.
